What’s Included in the Honda Sensing® Package?

The advanced technology of the Honda Sensing® suite provides active safety and driver assistance systems that can help prevent collisions and enhance awareness on the roads in and around New Britain. Honda Sensing® includes:

• Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS): Automatically applies the brakes if a possible collision is detected with the vehicle directly in front of you.
• Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM): Features a camera mounted near the rearview mirror to detect road markings and alert you if the vehicle begins to leave the road.
• Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Automatically maintains a safe following distance between your Honda and the vehicle ahead of you.
• Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): Detects when your vehicle is drifting out of its lane and automatically adjusts steering to correct the situation.
• Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR): Recognizes and remembers road signs, such as the speed limit, and relays the information to the driver.

Can You Turn Off Honda Sensing®?

It is certainly possible to turn off Honda Sensing® features. For example, if you want to turn off Road Departure Mitigation, you can press a button under ECON. To deactivate Lane Keeping Assist, just push the MAIN button on the steering wheel until the indicators in the instrument cluster are gone.

The Honda Sensing® settings can also be configured to your personal preferences via the optional central touchscreen. Tap “Settings,” followed by “Vehicle Settings,” and then “Drive Assist Setup.” This will allow you to customize system alerts and more.
